This post is dedicated to those moments when you’re craving something but are not necessarily hungry.
This happens to me a lot throughout the day and I’m always looking for smart options so I don’t intake those unnecessary calories.
My first pick is this sugarfree jellow by Royal (you can get it from any brand, as long as it’s ”clean”).

With 10 calories, 0g lipids, 0.9g carbs and 1,7g protein, sugarfree jellow is my choice when I crave something cold and sweet. (I must say I ate the crap out of it during Masterchef USA’s last season, which is not very smart).

Apple crisps are my other favourite go to snack.

Slightly sweet, crunchy and delicious! I usually buy mine at the supermarket for under 2€, since it is a national brand… But, once again, try to get the cleanest version of everything you eat :)
Your health is priceless!

Am I the only one who finds September the best Summer month?
Back to school and work aside, this is the only time you can actually go to the beach without struggling with space. Besides, the sun doesn’t ”bite” as hard…
To enjoy the last days of Summer, we packed our beach bags and headed to the boat to spend an (amazing) day in the ocean.

A minha nova obsessão: água de coco!
My new obsession: coconut water!
Have you seen the post about what I bring in my beach bag? Check it out to see what I brought to the boat :)
We left Cascais and sailed our way to Santa Apolónia. The seafront seen from the sea is beyond amazing!

On our way back, we stopped in Oeiras to recharge our batteries.
Back to Cascais, we threw the anchor and enjoyed the view until the sun was set…
I’ve never seen this many jellyfish in my life! I could count one per square foot and wouldn’t be far from the truth…
I’ve been to the beaches of Southern France and surroundings and can safely say that no view delights me as much as this does… There is something special about the Cascais bay and I’m sure I could live here for the next 200 days and end up not knowing what it is.

My favorite meal of the day is definitely breakfast and is certainly the one I give more attention to. Especially in school days when I need a powerful energy booster.
The smoothies, besides being super quick to make, can also gather all the necessary nutrients in one glass. Otherwise, you would take forever to eat everything separately and be late to class! (And no one deserves to eat raw spinach for breakfast, right? Haha). And by the way, I am intolerant to gluten, eggs and cow’s milk #freak so my breakfasts are super body friendly!
My favourite smoothie and the one that I usually make on school days is basically a mix of fruit (energetic and antioxidants) with vegetables (usually spinach) and a protein source (my favorite is the spirulina).

Eu costumo fazer tudo a olho, mas aqui ficam as doses ideais:
Para duas pessoas | For two people
2 bananas
Frutos vermelhos (à escolha, frescos ou congelados) | Berries (as you prefer, fresh or frozen)
1 colher de sopa de Gojis | 1 tablespoon of goji berries
2 colheres de chá de spirulina | 2 teaspoons of spirulina
4 mãos cheias de espinafres (de preferência orgânicos!) | 4 cups of spinach (preferably organic!)

If you fancy a thick consistency you could use frozen fruit, but I like mine at room temperature. I then start to cut the bananas into pieces.
I add the spinach, the bananas and the raspberries (my favourite kind of berry). Then I add two spoons of spirulina, which is a must in the smoothie because of its astronomic properties! Mine’s from the brand ISWARI.

I add the coconut flavoured rice milk, which is my favorite (as I said before, I’m intolerant to cow’s milk). I blend everything together and serve it in two cups:
A confusão é apenas psicológica!
Experimentem a receita e digam-me o que acharam, vou adorar saber :)

This super breakfast provides my body with proteins, carbohydrates (the good ones!), lots of vitamins and minerals. Not to mention that goji berries and spirulina keep me full for at least two hours. I know that in the beginning it is a bit weird to use vegetables in your smoothies, and the color is not the most appealing one, but it is really delicious and it’s a way of adding veggies to your diet. The weirdness is just psychological!
Having a good breakfast has become essential for me. I can no longer look at cereal boxes, or cookies, or bread in the morning. My body asks for good nutrient packed food! Not only in the morning but throughout the day :)
Oh, and you can add oatmeal, chia seeds, or whatever you desire to make it even more complete (it’s hard though! Hehe).
Try this recipe and let me know what you think, I’d love to hear from you :)

Being one of the biggest fans of Apple, I could not ignore their latest news.
I have several apple products and iphone 4S is undoubtedly my favourite! I prefer it to the iphone 5, but the new 5S left me completely drooling…

On the other hand, the 5C is cute. Just cute.

Both models are out in the USA late September and start being sold in Portugal in December. We just have to wait…

It may seem cliché, but for me the year actually begins in September. Don’t know if it’s because I’m still in college, but the feeling that most people have in the new year, I have in the beginning of the school year.
It is the beginning of a year full of new things, new friends, new experiences and … best of all: new school supplies! And the fact that I go to the university doesn’t change my crazy enthusiasm when I walk in a stationary or a hall of school supplies.
This post is coming out a bit late for those still in primary/high school, since classes start this week, but for those in college I’m still on time :)

O que acham desta série ”Back to school”?

The iPad or any other tablet, is kind of a best-friend-study-buddy. Obviously it’s not a needed supply for a student, but it sure is a great help. On my iPad I have several books and PDFs, paper works and apps that make my study much more organized. (post on that later!)
What do you think of this ”Back to School” series? I have some topics to talk about and if you have any suggestions please just leave it in the comments :)
