As férias estão a acabar e tenho aproveitado os dias para recarregar baterias (isto significa vegetar em casa, a fazer nenhum). 
O dia de hoje foi tal e qual assim. Fiz algumas compras de supermercado de manhã para o almoço, pintei as unhas, arrumei a casa e mergulhei no youtube a tarde toda a ver vídeos das minhas youtubers preferidas (tenho que fazer um post a falar sobre elas!). E agora estou a escrever-vos enquanto espero que comece a minha nova série preferida: Masterchef USA. Estou completamente viciadaaaaa, adoro programas de culinária :D
Estes são os detalhes do meu dia de hoje: 
The holidays are coming to an end so I’ve been staying at home doing absolutely nothing! And today it was just like that. I did some grocery shopping in the morning, painted my nails, cleaned up the house and spent the whole afternoon watching my favourite youtubers (I’ve got to write a post about them!). And now I’m waiting to my currently favourite show to start: Masterchef USA. I’m completely addicted, I love cooking shows :D

Comprei este verniz enquanto estive na África do Sul e não tiro mais das unhas! Tem um tom azulado lindo e dura muito nas unhas. Os vernizes Sally Hansen não poupam na qualidade, como já vos tinha falado aqui. Este é o número 420.
I bought this nail polish while I was in South Africa and can’t take it off of my nails anymore! It has this beautiful deep ocean blue and it lasts up to a week in great condition. Sally Hansen’s polishes are great in quality, as I’ve already said in this post. This is number 420.
Ando numa busca contínua por um bom restaurante mexicano (se alguém souber de algum, seja em que lugar do país for, por favor diga-me!) e enquanto não o encontro vou inventando em casa. Para um almoço rápido e delicioso, fiz um guacamole, carne picada e molho picante. Depois foi só abrir um pacote de nachos et voilá! 
I’m in a constant search for a great mexican restaurant in Portugal and while I don’t find it, I try and make my own version at home. For a quick and delicious lunch, I made some guacamole, minced beef and spicy sauce. Then I just opened a bag of nachos et voilá!

O novo menino dos meus olhos (quase literalmente) é este Fake Up da Benefit. Sempre fui contra os corretores, nunca encontrei nenhum que funcionasse para mim e acabava sempre por usar só a base. Na realidade, eu não tenho olheiras nem grandes manchas nessa zona, mas gosto do efeito iluminado que um bom corretor dá ao olhar (e também sou uma viciada em maquilhagem hihi). E este é perfeito porque é super hidratante! Não dá aquele efeito seco e lascado que os corretores geralmente me dão. Em vez disso, funciona quase como uma cera que se espalha maravilhosamente bem, tem cobertura média e dá um iluminado lindo.
My new must have is the Benefit’s Fake Up. I’ve always been against concealers as I’ve never tried one that really worked for me and always ended up wearing just foundation. Honestly, I don’t have much dark circles under my eyes, but I like the lighting effect a nice concealer can create (and also I’m a makeup addict haha). And this is the perfect one because it is hidrating! It doesn’t give that dry flaky affect concealers usually do. Instead, it works almost as a wax that spreads wonderfully well, it has medium coverage and is the perfect finish to a beautiful polished look.

Uns anos depois de me passar a fase de ter-uma-unha-de-cada-cor-e-do-comprimento-de-um-continente, a moda pegou. Pegou e passou-me ao lado. Já não tenho qualquer fascínio por unhas ”rainbow”, ou unhas com enfeites e penduricalhos. Gosto de tons neutros, vermelhos, corais e preto e tenho um certo crush por unhas curtinhas.
Estes são os meus tons preferidos para o Verão, da Essie:

A few years after my continent-size-rainbow-nails phase passed, it became a trend. And it didn’t get me. I don’t enjoy having rainbow nails or nails with ornaments and trinkets. I like neutrals, reds, corals and black and have a little crush on short nails.

Quando chego ao Verão já estou enjoada do vermelho, mas descobri este ”Exotic Liras”, que tem uns undertones mais corais, e é a cor que mais uso! E fica lindo tanto em mãos bronzeadas como em mãos branquinhas.

When summer starts I’m already sick and tired of red, but I found this ” Exotic Liras”, which has a more coral undertone, and it is the one I wear the most! It looks beautiful in both tanned and pale hands.

O ”Fiji” é o novo queridinho por toda a gente. É um rosa muito pálido e discreto. São necessárias 3 camadas para ficar uniforme e opaco, mas o resultado são umas unhas impecáveis, frescas e elegantes. #biglove

”Fiji” is everyone’s new sweetheart. It is a very pale and subtle pink. You need to apply 3 layers so it stays even and opaque but the result are clean, fresh and elegant nails. #biglove

O ”Mint Candy Apple” é dos meus vernizes preferidos de sempre! Todos os tons de menta, acqua, etc, são grandes amores meus, mas este é especial… Adoro encher os dedos de anéis prateados quando uso este verniz, as minhas mãos ficam logo felizes.

”Mint Candy Apple” is my favorite nail polish ever! All shades of mint, acqua, etc. are great loves of mine, but this one is special … I love wearing all kinds of silver rings on my fingers when I wear this colour, my hands become so happy.

Este tom, e terceiro dos tons pastel, é outro frequente nas minhas unhas durante o Verão. É simples, bonito e versátil.

This tone, and third of the pastel shades, is another frequent one on my nails during summer time. It’s casual, pretty and versatile.

O ”Bright Tights” é um verniz que adoro, mas só o consigo ter nas unhas durante três dias. Além de começar a lascar e ter logo que o tirar, enjoa! No entanto, enquanto dura eu passo o tempo todo a olhar para as mãos :)

”Bright Tights” is a polish that I love, but I can only have it on my nails for three days. Besides starting to chip and having to take it off immediately, I get sick of it pretty easy! However, I look at my hands all the time while it lasts :)

Às vezes até os melhores vernizes não duram o tempo que nós gostaríamos porque são usados a solo. Eu consigo ter as unhas bonitas, sem lascar, durante uma semana. Para isso tive que experimentar MUITOS produtos até descobrir aqueles que realmente funcionam para mim, quando quero uma manicure duradoura e bonita.

Sometimes even the best nail polishes don’t last as long as we’d like them to because they’re worn solo. I can manage to have pretty nails, without chipping, for a week. I had to try on LOADS of products so I could figure out which ones work best for me, when I want a perfect long-lasting manicure.

Antes de aplicar a cor, passo uma camada da base da O.P.I (Natural Nail Base Coat), que é para proteger as unhas naturais dos vernizes e promover uma manicure duradoura. Dependendo do verniz que uso, alterno entre o Insta-Dri e o Mega Shine, ambos da Sally Hansen. Quando uso um tom que não requer brilho no final e quero que dure eternidades aplico o Insta-Dri, que seca as unhas mais rápido e evita que as unhas lasquem. Aplico o Mega Shine quando uso tons como o preto, vermelho e outros tons escuros, para dar aquele acabamento mega brilhante!

Before I apply the colour, I apply one layer of O.P.I’s Natural Nail Base Coat, which is great to prevent staining of natural nails and promotes a long-lasting manicure. Depending on the colour I use, I either apply Insta-Dry or Mega Shine, both by Sally Hansen. When I wear a tone that doesn’t need a shinny end to it and I want it to last forever I apply Insta-Dry, it dries your nails quicker and prevents chipping. I apply Mega Shine when I wear colours like black, red and other dark tones, to give a nice shinny end to it!
